2016 Enrollment for summer Junior Police Academy now open

The word is out on this popular program and the summer 2016 sessions are filling up fast. Cadets participate in a police themed summer day camp consisting of law enforcement themed instruction, physical fitness, drill and summer camp activities.

Some anticipated topics include: SWAT, Patrol, K-9, Courts, Tazer and more. Cadets should be prepared to participate in a wide array of physical activities. The kids love it and its a great time for everyone. For scheduling and enrollment please contact the Town of Newburgh Recreation dept at 845-564-7815. Sessions are filling up fast so act soon!

New PBA labor agreement

April 5, 2016. The Town of Newburgh PBA is very pleased to have negotiated and settled a fair and reasonable labor agreement with the Town of Newburgh. This contract is fair and mutually beneficial for our members as well as for the town and its residents. We would like to thank Town Supervisor Piaquadio as well as Councilwoman Greene for their time and effort negotiating to make this agreement happen. We would also like to thank the entire Town Board for their continued commitment and support. The hard working men and women who serve and protect our town reached an agreement with the Town which allows for a 2.5% raise in base salary for 2016, 2017 and 2018. In 2016, the starting salary for a police officer in the Town of Newburgh is $51,944 and top base salary after completing 5 years service is $81,787. New Police Chief

April 5, 2016. The Town of Newburgh PBA would like to congratulate our new Police Chief Donald Bruce Campbell.  Chief Campbell was officially sworn in as Chief at the Town Board Meeting last night.

The hard-working men and women of the Town of Newburgh PBA proudly look forward to continuing our dedicated service to the town residents, business owners and visitors under Chief Campbell’s leadership.

The Town of Newburgh PBA would also like to thank The Town Board members for taking swift, decisive action by appointing Chief Campbell. We are also very appreciative of the Town Boards recent hiring of three new full-time police officers.  The PBA looks forward to the Town Board selection of a Deputy Police Chief as well as 1st line supervisor promotions and more full-time police officers positions in the near future. 2015 Junior Police Academy Session 1

The first session of the Town of Newburgh Police Department’s  2015 Junior Police Academy started 7/6/15.  The kids are having a great time learning about different police related topics from the well experienced Town of Newburgh Police Officer’s and employees and some of the talented Officer’s from surrounding agencies.

PBA Honors 6 Year Old Xavier

On April 28th, The Town of Newburgh Police Department, Cronomer Valley FD, Orange Lake FD, and The Town of Newburgh Emergency Medical Services had the honor of making six year old Xavier an Honorary Member of all these agencies. Xavier was given his last rights on Easter and is terminally ill from cancer.
