Sitting home waiting for my daughter to get home from work tonite, I knew it wouldn't be good when she called me at 10:30. Sure enough she says, "My tire just popped"...... Which I later found out translated to "I'm sitting on the side of a 4 lane highway with a flat tire".
When I got there, I saw the flashing lights of a Town of Newburgh cop who happened to be driving by and pulled up behind her.
I got out, walked up to her car and saw he was on the ground taking the lug nuts off, with her donut sitting close by and realized he was changing it for her.
Surprised I immediately held my phone as a flashlight for him as he joked and chatted with us the whole time. And we all had a laugh when Jayden's dad pulled up just as the cop tightened the last lug nut and removed the jack lol!
I can't say enough about his kindness and compassion, even going so far as to say that if Jayden did know how to change it, he wouldn't want her out there doing it on that road especially that time of nite.
Please remember our men in blue are not only out there to arrest the bad guys, but also to protect and keep our young and innocent safe.
I tried to look at his badge and believe his name was McKenzie.
So thank you so much Officer McKenzie (hope that's right lol) for looking out for and taking care of my baby girl. I'll never forget it.
